We had struggled with our small, irregularly shaped backyard since our home was built 10 years ago. Our backyard was not functional or entertaining-friendly. We have a large family and many friends that we love having over for barbecues and get-togethers. In June of 2023, we contacted Ellen with an idea to transform our backyard.

After a few meetings and emails, she presented us with her vision of our outdoor living space. We were blown away! After more meetings and many drawings and revisions, we agreed to go ahead with this complete transformation.

Construction commenced on May 1, 2023, and we enjoyed our first outdoor fire on Aug 31. It was a pleasure to work with Ellen and her outstanding tradespeople and suppliers. We were amazed with the quality of work throughout the course of construction. Attention to detail can be seen everywhere you look—and where you can’t see.

At the grand reveal, we were speechless! Pictures don’t do it justice. It feels like you are in a resort. Ellen researched, specified, and sourced all of the fixtures, finishes, furniture, appliances, and décor. It all came together to look amazing. The flow and colors from our house to our backyard room are flawless, and the colors chosen complement each space perfectly.

Family, friends, and neighbors were awestruck with the transformation. For us, it is everything and more that we dreamed of. We would highly recommend Ellen to create, design, and fulfill your dream outdoor room or home renovation. She really was a pleasure to work with.

Where her service was really outstanding for us was on “styling” our home, by moving and rearranging items which we wanted to keep and then purchasing items which totally fit our lifestyle; we feel like we have moved into a new home!

Our experience with Ellen Walker has been very positive. We worked with her first several years ago with our new office. We remain very pleased with the colors and with her furniture selections. We worked extensively with her for the last 2 years on a two-story medical guest home in Edmonton. Ellen was a fantastic help in the development and construction of my new home. She helped me review plans, redesign the layout of my basement, configure and design the built-in cabinets in my living room and reading room. She also added her opinion to the selection of paint colors and helped us custom design the trim and casing.

When the house was completed, she helped with the pre-turnover meeting and review. After I had moved in, Ellen helped me select and place furniture and other items throughout the house. One of my favorite items in the house is three mirrors that are joined together like gears. As an engineer, this just seems so fitting for my new home.
